The Compliance Gap Costing Your Fleet

Since Executive Order 14286 in April 2025, English Language Proficiency (ELP) enforcement has intensified across the trucking industry. Inspectors are paying closer attention to whether drivers can understand and respond to safety-related questions in English during roadside interactions.

7,000+

drivers placed out of service for English Language Proficiency violations since June 2025

In June 2025, CVSA reinstated English Language Proficiency as an out-of-service criterion, and enforcement has accelerated. Under 49 CFR 391.11(b)(2), every commercial driver must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to understand highway traffic signs, respond to official inquiries, and complete required reports and records.

Training That Speaks the Language of Trucking

ESL for Truckers is an industry-specific English training program built for commercial drivers and the fleets that employ them. Every lesson focuses on the real language drivers need on the road — from roadside inspections and logbook entries to Bills of Lading, dispatch communications, and accident reporting.

The program is fully self-paced, delivered online, and designed to scale from 15 drivers to hundreds. Your team gets a practical, repeatable way to strengthen English Language Proficiency across your fleet without pulling drivers off the road for classroom time.

Why Fleet Managers Choose ESL for Truckers

Protect CSA Scores

Every ELP violation hits your BASIC scores. Proactive training helps keep your safety record clean.

Meeting Drivers Where They Are

ESL for Truckers provides multilingual support so drivers can build English skills without losing the context of their day-to-day work. Each lesson includes native-language scaffolding in Spanish, Haitian Creole, and Portuguese, helping drivers understand key concepts before they practice them in English.

Drivers begin each lesson with clear context in their first language, then move step by step toward full English proficiency in trucking-specific situations. It’s a dignity-first approach that meets drivers where they are linguistically and walks them forward until they can confidently respond to inspectors, read Bills of Lading, and make logbook entries in English.
